Brazil achieved great victories and rankings for women and men, this Friday (10/18).

The first day of the STU PRO TOUR – RIO competition this Friday (18th) has already brought a number of fantastic presentations and great results. The event was divided between training phases and phases 1 and 2 of each modality (Street and park), the last two are the most important, as they rank the skateboarding athletes for the semi-finals.

Furthermore, this first day collected good comments from those who were present at the event and followed the disputes closely: “It’s my third STU, I started skateboarding 3 years ago, then I started coming to the STU and this year the level is ‘bizarre’. Both the women’s and men’s teams are very good… they have brought some top level athletes and are really showing what they came for this weekend, the finals have everything to be like that, because I think people here have already done some ‘weird tricks’, even though they’ve already moved on to the next stage, they’re still giving it their all and I think that’s kind of the vibe of skateboarding,” said Suzy Meireles.

The women’s groups of park AND street The highlight were the Brazilian athletes, who achieved excellent marks in today’s tournament. In the first category, skateboarder Raicca Ventura qualified for the semi-final, after obtaining the highest score in the ranking parkwith a score of 80.17. In the second category, seven Brazilians, namely the athletes Maria Almeida (63.77), Marina Gabriela (63.44), Pâmela Rosa (66.00), Giovana Dias (46.70), Isabelly Avila (61.00 ), Adriadne Souza (56.81) and, mainly “Fadinha” Rayssa Leal (91.29) qualified for the Street semi-finals.

Raicca Ventura, from the street, talked a little about that first day: “Well, the structure of the event is very good and the event, man… it’s a huge event. Everyone who lives here in Rio and also those who don’t live… Everyone from Brazil wants to come and see, watch and there are also many good skaters, even many foreigners, the event is really nice, there will be a show after… As for today, it was really nice, I also there is still a lot to give, but today I managed to move on to the next phases first and it was really nice, I didn’t expect all this, but now it’s like this… ‘Let’s go’ to the next phase and let’s go with everything”, commented the athlete.

As for the men’s mode, two Brazilians went directly to the semi-finals streetthey were Filipe Mota and Samuel Jimmy. Five other Brazilians also qualified, but had to compete in some heats to reach the semi-finals, namely Ivan Monteiro, João Lucas Alvez, Gabryel Aguilar, Wacson Mass and Giovanni Vianna.
