Scholars reveal the ‘equation’ for measuring kind acts

Kindness scholar and ambassador Alan Williams said at an event in Palermo, Italy, that it is possible to measure the real effects of kind acts, as well as revealing the existence of a mathematical equation that relates the practice to the environment that surrounds it. .

“We wanted to study how kindness moves through networks, creating waves of positive change,” the expert said during the opening of the 11th edition of the World Assembly of the Kindness Movement, which will last until next Sunday (20 ).

The event, which brings together experts from different countries around the world, aims to discuss the use of kindness as a social tool, as well as evaluate the impact these actions have on schools, public administrations and prisons.

“In its simplest form, the kindness equation explains how a combination of helpfulness, expression and impact combine into a kind act that can ripple out to potentially create infinite kindness,” Williams said at the event. “Kindness will change the world.”

The equation mentioned by the ambassador introduces new perspectives on how kindness works, particularly the concept of “splash,” which is the mutual benefit between those offering kindness and the environment around them.

“The assembly has the task of investigating kindness from a scientific point of view. The commitment of us delegates is to bring different points of view that lead our society, through our studies, to understand that actions are based on what we can define as the ethics of kindness”, said the Italian expert Natalia Re, guest of the meeting. .
