Smile 2: The son of one of the greatest American actors of all time will appear in the sequel!

If we were to create a category for the most annoying smile in cinema, several actors and actresses could compete for the top spot. But who better than Jack Nicholson to take home the prize? From The Shining to Batman – in which he flashes a surgical smile as the Joker – the actor has left his mark on audiences’ imaginations with memorable features.

So obviously you have to have imagination for Smile 2. Failing to pitch to Jack Nicholson himself—we doubt the star would have accepted the offer—director and screenwriter Parker Finn called his son, Ray Nicholson.

In the sequel, the young actor plays the boyfriend of Skye Riley, the film’s protagonist, played by Naomi Scott. Without giving too much away, the character ultimately doesn’t feature much in the story. He embodies trauma for the main character and is always at the center of scary scenes.

Although he is only a minor character, Ray Nicholson is still heavily involved in promoting the film. He even gets his own poster. It must be said that his smile quickly evokes the smile of his father.

Before Smile 2, the actress appeared in several small roles in the Paul Thomas Anderson films Licorice Pizza and Emerald Fennel’s Promising Young Woman. He also plays one of the main roles in the TV series Panic.

As for Jack Nicholson, he hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2010 – James L. Brooks, How to Know. The 87-year-old actor is now retiring.
