The rupture of a 600 mm water main, located in Avenida Antônio de Carvalho, leaves part of the East Zone without water. The problem, caused by a light pole, was discovered on Saturday 19th by the municipal Water and Sewerage Department (DMAE). The repair, already started by the teams, will be completed on Sunday 20th.
The service is considered very complex, taking into account the thickness of the pipe and the influence of the natural gas network on the road. Consumers residing in the coverage area of the ten Treated Water Lifting Stations (Ebats) are affected, as their functioning was impaired due to the breakdown of the water network.

The affected areas are:
Restoration – The return of the water will be gradual from the moment the restoration is completed, taking longer in the higher parts of the system. After long stops, upon returning the water could change color and flavor due to the entrainment of microparticles that are not harmful to health, which may be on the internal walls of the pipe.
If the normal appearance of the water takes time to restore, the customer can request flushing from the waterworks or home branch by calling 156, option 2.
