Lionsgate Revealed Plans for a Yacht Rock Musical Comedy navigation, In talks to star with Woody Harrelson.
The jukebox musical comedy follows the attempts of a group of 1970s musicians who discover the mellow sounds and lifestyle of yacht rock. The soft rock music genre dominated FM radio during this time.
Harrelson recently starred Poison: Let there be carnage. Your future work includes a man from torontoUnlike Kevin Hart and the HBO series White House Plumbers. Chris D’Arienzo, creator of the Broadway musical Rock of Agesthe field is sold out navigation with Jeremy Plager developing and producing alongside MegaMix (Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer) and Harrelson.
“We’re excited to be working with Jeremy, Jonathan, Gillian, Chris and Woody, and we’re confident that not only will it have a phenomenal soundtrack, but it will also put you in the summer mood,” said Lionsgate’s president. Produced by Erin Westerman, said the nostalgic musical comedy.
Meredith Vick and John Humphrey will continue the Lionsgate project. Bonnie Styled brokered the deals on behalf of the studio.
Harrelson is represented by Ziffren Brittenham. D’Arienzo has the reputation of Verve. And Plager is represented by attorney Greg Slewett at Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett & Kole LLP.
