Netflix released this Tuesday signed a new deal with Universal, which will bring more live-action films from the studio to the platform starting in 2027.
Under the agreement, Universal and Focus Features titles will be available on Netflix for up to eight months after their theatrical debut. Additionally, the partnership includes the renewal of the exclusive license for animated films from Illumination and DreamWorks Animation.
Universal’s live-action films will stream exclusively on Netflix for 10 months after being released on Peacock, before returning to the NBC platform.

During its recent earnings report, Netflix highlighted the importance of offering a broad range of content, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a steady stream of new shows, movies and games throughout the year.
