Three-time world champion dies at 34: this absolute legend is the focus of a new series on Netflix!

Formula 1 continues to captivate Netflix subscribers. From the documentary series F1: Drivers Following Their Fate, the streaming platform returns this time with a feature series dedicated to the life of Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna (played by Gabriel Leone).

A three-time world champion and considered one of Formula 1’s greatest legends, the latter is also remembered for his fatal crash on May 1, 1994 at the Imola circuit in San Marino. To this day, he remains one of the record holders for the number of pole positions (65 out of 161 contested races), but also for the number of Monaco Grand Prix wins (six, a still unmatched record).

The life and exploits of the Brazilian champion inspired the mini-series Cena. Produced by Netflix, this program traces the driver’s entire career, from his first exploits as a go-kart driver to his greatest victories in Formula 1. But the series will also focus on the personal life of Ayrton Senna da Silva (his full name). A famous aspect in the life of the latter.

Of course, the series will return to his famous rivalry with French driver Alain Prost (Matt Mella), certainly one of the most anticipated passages for Formula 1 fans. The series also filmed scenes at Imola’s real-life Tamburello bend – the same spot where Senna lost his life thirty years ago.

You can watch Cena’s mini-series starting November 29 only on Netflix.
