The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta is a success on Steam

There were more than 460 thousand concurrent players who tried the beta

With the launch of the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta on Steam, until then only available on PlayStation 5 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, have been counted 463,798 concurrent users tested the new game on Valve’s service. The number of players tends to increase on the weekend.

The beta, which can also be played on Xbox Series X|S, supports crossplay between all platforms. Everyone who participates will receive a pendant as a special bonus to decorate their weapons or Seikret mount, along with an item pack for the full version of Monster Hunter Wilds.

During the beta, players will be able to enjoy the full character creation tool with transferable data for the final game, a story preview, and hunt the Doshaguma with free exploration. In Story Preview, players experience the game’s opening and learn basic moves in the tutorial as they hunt a Chatacabra, while in Hunt the Doshaguma players can chase a pack’s Alpha Doshaguma or explore the Zephyr Plains.

Players can experience both the story preview and the Doshaguma hunt on their own, or use an SOS beacon to create a team of up to four players online, and even use the same item to request assistance from support hunter NPCs.

The beta can be played until November 3rd at 11.59pm (Brasilia time).

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
