The Count of Monte Cristo continues to climb to an all-time high at the French box office. Released more than 4 months ago at the beginning of summer, the adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ novel continues to attract audiences to theaters. According to the latest data shared by the CBO Box-office, the film is now the 41st highest grosser of all time in France, displacing the cult comedy Le Diner de cons.
As of yesterday, the Count of Monte Cristo (and the numbers ending the weekend of November 3, 2024) totals exactly 9,256,206 entries.
Earlier, the blockbuster by Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellier surpassed another film myth, Just Jackin’s erotic film Emmanuelle – which had been exhibited on the Champs-Élysées for more than a decade. It thus becomes the 15th biggest French hit, also ahead of L’Ours.
On his official X account, Pierre Nin was delighted with the news: “20 years ago, in my teenage bedroom, I dreamed of writing great texts, but I did not dare to imagine myself acting in a TV movie… Dantes was already worried, you made this epic immortal. thank you“
