New episodes already have a scheduled release date
The first part of the 4th season of Outer Banks arrived at Netflix on October 10, 2024, with five episodes that pick up the plot 18 months after the events of season 3. The Pogues return to town after finding a package of gold, and try to live a normal life while running a fishing shop, but end up getting involved in new problems and more adventures.
Now, fans wait the second part of the season, which will be released on November 7, 2024, at 4 am in Brazil. With five more episodes, the season will conclude with a total of 10 chapters.
Is season 5 confirmed?
THE Netflix confirmed the renewal of Outer Banks for its fifth season, which will also be its last. The announcement was made just days before the premiere of Part 2 of the fourth season, scheduled for November 7, through an exclusive letter published in the magazine Deadline.
In the letter, the creators of the series, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burkeshared that the original plot plan was always to develop the journey of the Pogues over five seasons, focusing on adventures and treasure hunts.
From the beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunts, and friendship.
In the letter, they expressed mixed feelings regarding the series’ closure:
With some sadness but also excitement, we are leaving Season 4 behind and turning our attention to Season 5, where we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned all those years ago. Season 5 will be our last, and we believe it will be the best.
The letter ends with the creators highlighting that the fifth season will be the last and, according to them, “the best” of all.
The fourth season of Outer Banks premiered its first part in October 2024 and quickly reached the top of Netflix’s global ranking of English-language series, remaining in the top 10 for several consecutive weeks.
Since its debut, Outer Banks became a phenomenon. With in-person events, licensed products and a loyal fan base, the series won over young audiences with its story set in a coastal community in North Carolina, where rival groups Kooks and Pogues compete in a search for legendary treasures, overcoming challenges of class and creating unexpected alliances.
