“This is my best movie, but you’ll never see it”: Filmed over 9 years, this movie will be released in 2115!

Directed by Robert Rodriguez in 2015, 100 Years: The Movie You’ll Never See is a short film whose title says it all: You’ll Never See! It will actually be released in 91 years, or 100 years after its creation. And not a year earlier.

Written and directed by John Malkovich, the film was commissioned by French cognac brand Louis XIII, which wanted to set its star bottle, the century-old cognac, in a specific context. idea? Present three different visions of the future, three different worlds featuring the bottle and John Malkovich : An ultra-technological world, a world where nature has reclaimed its rights, and a nostalgic world that evokes Blade Runner.

And be careful, the film is very secure. Protected on film, it is placed in a safe programmed only for the fateful date: November 18, 2115.

while creating John Malkovich revealed a little more about the project: “The central concept of the project was to imagine what the world would be like in a hundred years“, he explained.

According to the site io9, the Louis XIII team envisioned a system of metal tickets that guests can pass down to their descendants, who will need to equip themselves with a projector to watch this film.

“I have tickets. I got these metal movie tickets for my movie premiere so my offspring can go!“, they explained to us Robert Rodriguez Cannes in May 2023, where he presented his thriller Hypnotic.

“100 Years is my best movie, but you will never see it! This is what is great and sad. We shot the film and it was put in the basement. I might have a precut somewhere, but I don’t have a final copy. But I still won’t show anyone because I think it’s great that no one can see!“

He continued: “I finished the film and they told me that they really liked it. And no one saw it. I said: Really no one? No, no one. We’re going to lock it up and put it somewhere safe. So they take it very seriously.“

No images are leaked. Our entire generation will see this project, this is a preview, in the form of teasers that you should discover below.
