Palacios is close to Boca Juniors; Vasco will receive value

The Argentine team will have to pay a fine for the Colo-Colo (CHL) attacking midfielder; the value is R$23 million, of which Cruz-Maltino gets half

Boca Juniors (ARG) is close to signing Chilean attacking midfielder Carlos Palacios, coming from Colo-Colo (CHL). The player, who said goodbye to the team after the Chilean title last Sunday (9), has continued negotiations with the Argentine team.

The information comes from journalist Germán García Grova, of “TyC Sports”, in Argentina, published this Monday (11). Boca will therefore have to shell out around 4 million dollars (around R$ 23 million at current exchange rates) to be able to count on Palacios. This is, according to “ge”, the value of the player’s fine.

In this way Vasco is the one who gains. After all, the team still holds 50% of the athlete’s economic rights, retaining $2 million (about R$11.5 million). Previously, in 2023, the Chileans had already paid R$2.4 million for 20% of their pass.

Palacios joined Vasco in 2022 after SAF Cruz-Maltina paid Inter R$8 million for 70% of the rights. Therefore, Gigante da Colina earns a total of approximately R$5.9 million from the operation.

At Colo-Colo since July 2023, Palacios has played 76 games, scoring 25 goals and 13 assists. In the current season alone there have been 22 contributions to the network. He won the 2024 Chilean championship, as well as helping the team in the Libertadores campaign, where they reached the quarterfinals, falling to River Plate (ARG).
