The fees target online gambling
THE Federal Senate installed this Tuesday, 12, on Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of Bettingthe calls virtual betting. The proposal, whose rapporteur is the Senator Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS)aims to investigate the influence of online betting games on the budget of Brazilian families. Furthermore, the CPI will also analyze possible associations between betting and organized crime and money laundering.

The request was signed by 31 senators and will be processed in parallel CPI Bettinginstalled by the Senate in April this year, which investigates the manipulation of online gaming and betting. From now on, the commission will have 130 days to present a conclusion, with a spending limit of R$110,000.
The themes may be similar, but the approach has different scope. While the CPI Betting focuses on the impact of virtual betting on the lives of the population as a whole, the CPI for game manipulation and sports betting aims to investigate, more specifically, complaints relating to match-fixing in football matches.
The latter is chaired by the Senator Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) and its speaker is the Senator Romario (PL-RJ). Football players Luiz Henrique (Botafogo) AND Bruno Henrique (Flamengo) were summoned by the collegiate to testify at the CPI das Apostas this Tuesday. Deolane Bezerra was released from testimony
The lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerrawho had also been summoned to attend a session of the ICC on 29 October, was released from testimony after appealing to the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The influencer’s call was made by the senator Eduardo Girao (Novo-CE). He justified that Deolane’s testimony will help the CPI to “clarify issues relating to the ultimate objective of this CPI, which is to uncover the possible implications of criminal factions with companies operating in the online gambling market.”
