The production, which explores the beginning of the relationship between the characters Joker and Harley Quinn, stars Joaquin Phoenix, winner of the Oscar for best actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck in the first film of the series, and Lady Gaga, winner of the Oscar for Best Original Song by A star is born. The plot follows Arthur Fleck as he is admitted to Arkham Asylum after his crimes as the Joker, and shows his encounter with love and music.
Directed by Todd Phillips, who also wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, both of whom were nominated for an Oscar for the former Joker. The film’s soundtrack, written by Hildur Guđnadóttir, winner of the Oscar for the soundtrack Jokerhad the collaboration of Lady Gaga, who composed and performed the original song “Folie à Deux”.
The cast also includes Brendan Gleeson, nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Banshees of InisherinCatherine Keener, called Run! AND Coatand Zazie Beetz, reprising her role as Sophie Dumond, Arthur Fleck’s neighbor.

Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav, Discovery, acknowledged the lack of consistency in the company’s results during a call with analysts, held on November 7, 2024.
“Even in an industry with ups and downs, we must recognize that our studio sector needs to offer greater consistency,” he said. Zaslav added that “inconsistency” is still a problem in the study, something reinforced by the “disappointing results of Joker 2“.
In addition to the modest gross, the film also received one of the worst reviews from audiences, with a D in CinemaScore, which places it as the lowest-rated film among comic book productions. This result reflects a significant contrast with the first Jokerwhich earned a B+ and was widely recognized by critics, as well as winning Joaquin Phoenix the Oscar for Best Actor.
The sequel, which stars Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, received a mixed reception, with reviews indicating a more uncomfortable and idiosyncratic tone, which may have alienated some audiences.
In his speech to analysts, Zaslav also touched on the studio’s recent successes, mentioning that although there have been failures, “there have been some bright spots in our studio’s activity.” Highlighted the performance of Beetle juice and the resounding success of Barbiewhich became the biggest film of 2023, grossing nearly $450 million.

Coriga: Delirium for two will be available for purchase and rental on Prime Video, Claro TV+, YouTube, Apple TV, Vivo Play and Microsoft platforms. The release date is November 17, 2024, giving fans the chance to watch the film at home.
