The Wolf of Wall Street was Margot Robbie’s first big Hollywood film; she later starred in Suicide Squad (2016) and Barbie (2023)

First big role Margot Robbie in Hollywood,The Wolf of Wall Street demanded great dramatic and comic relief from the Australian actress, who played Naomi Lapaglia and I listened to specific songs to be able to film scenes in which I needed to cry.

Over the years, the artist spoke a few times about the behind-the-scenes of the film. On one occasion, Robbie revealed how he ended up drinking a few shots of tequila to deal with the nervousness of filming nude scenes. “I’m not going to lie, I took a few shots of tequila before that scene because I was nervous – very, very nervous,” she said in a recording on BAFTA: A Life In Pictures.

“Honestly, I know it seems silly now, knowing how big it became, at the time I thought, ‘No one is going to notice me in this movie.’ It kind of doesn’t matter what I do in it because everyone will focus on Leo [DiCaprio] and everything,” he continued.” And I was like, ‘I’m going to go unnoticed.'”

Now, while participating in a podcast episode Talking Pictures: A Movie MemoriesMargot Robbie explained how she listened to songs from the soundtrack of Titanic to become more emotional. Curiously, Leonardo DiCaprio worked with her in The Wolf of Wall Street.

“In The Wolf of Wall Streetthere was a big, crazy scene after I filed for divorce and stuff. AND Kate Winslet came to visit the set, to visit Leo [DiCaprio] that day,” he stated. “I was in the room next to them, listening to the soundtrack of Titanictrying to be sad, in tearful mode. And then I saw Kate Winslet and Leo pass. It was very surreal.”

I can even hear the theme song from Titanicand I’ll be crying. And that’s what I do on set if I need to cry in a scene.
