The company’s idea is to show that you can play Xbox on different devices
Microsoft presented this Thursday (14th) its new marketing campaign called “That’s an Xbox”, which invites people to play Xbox on different devices and screens.
The campaign trailer features players’ journey as they experience their favorite games across different devices and locations, at home or on the go. The idea is to show that whatever device you choose, you’ll likely be able to play with an Xbox.
Microsoft has also made it clear that it’s equally important to understand what an Xbox isn’t. So the company labeled “That’s not an Xbox” on non-Xbox items and in unexpected places, while also showing images from the “That’s an Xbox” campaign in San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, New York and Berlin to highlight all the devices that are part of Xbox.
To further expand the “This is an Xbox” campaign, partnerships have been formed with several brands to bring the action to life in different ways, demonstrating that Xbox games can be played, for example, via Amazon Fire TV, on Samsung smartphones and on ASUS ROG Ally laptop.
“You are likely reading this on an Xbox compatible device, which you can activate with the help of Cloud Gaming or the Xbox app for PC”the company said. “This is the inspiration for our new campaign ‘That’s an Xbox’.”
