On Thursday, November 14, from 9pm on the serieclub channel, French viewers have the opportunity to watch the very clever Norwegian series Dumbsday. Awarded at the end of the 2024 edition of the Cannes Film Festival, this new fiction begins as a new pandemic sweeps across the planet…
“Dumbsday” on the series club
Six strangers are forced to work together to save the world from a virus that is turning people into mindless zombies (hence the name “zombies”! Will they survive? And could these people really be the future of humanity?
Frode – “the artist”, aspiring musician and poet on Instagram – finds himself chosen when his researcher brother becomes infected! It also gives him the only available vaccine in time… His quest here becomes obvious: to deliver the vaccine to the mysterious Ekko Station, where the most powerful people in the country would hide in the event of an apocalypse.
Is the world already lost?
Our (anti)hero is aided by Trini, a self-proclaimed “girl” who works as a firefighter; A lonely girl with a bit of an ass and full of optimism; Joke, a sports coach with a physique more developed than neurons; Perry, a macho survivalist with an IQ of 139, and Thea, a girl with a dark, pessimistic and mysterious soul.
However, their biggest threat isn’t the post-apocalyptic landscape, the mindless zombies, or the fact that time is running out… but their complete lack of skills, survival instincts, or the ability to cooperate now that they’ve had the comforts of civilization. They took it away. However, they represent humanity’s last… and worst hope!
In the casting, the public meets Henrik Mestad, Cengiz Al, Charlotte Frogner, Jacob Schoen Andersen, Christine Grandsen and Ellie Muller Osborne. Season 1 of Dumbsday consists of 10 episodes of 26 minutes each. Some of these episodes will be broadcast this Thursday, November 14 at 21:00 on Seriaclub, and the rest will be offered next week, Thursday, November 21, at the same time and on the same channel.
