In a match marked by the confirmation of the Serie B title, Peixe loses against Galo Alagoano who escapes relegation to Serie C
On a day of celebration, Santos disappointed its fans and lost to CRB 2-0, this Sunday, 17th, in Vila Viva Sorte, in the 37th matchday of the Serie B of the Brazilian championship. Peixe, already with the title guaranteed, failed to provide a good performance and lost to Galo Alagoano, who, with the away win, managed to escape the possibility of relegation and no longer has any chance of falling to Serie C Alvinegro Praiano, in turn, lifted the champions’ cup of the competition, despite the defeat.
Tributes and end of ‘protests’
With access and the Serie B title guaranteed, Santos begins to return to its “normality” together with the fans. So much so that the central organization of Peixe once again continued its main path correctly. After all, Torcida Jovem displayed its banner with the name upside down throughout Serie B. It was a form of protest against the team’s relegation to the Second Division. Furthermore, Peixe announced the return of the 10 shirt in the 10th minute of the match. The numbering was not used throughout the second division.
The CRB tries to spoil the party
It was an afternoon of celebration for Santos, but of decision for CRB, who needed to win to guarantee their stay in Serie B again next year. So much so that the Alagoas started the match with the lead and opened the scoring. After a beautiful pass from João Pedro, Labandeira went towards goal, dribbled past Gabriel Brazão and made it 1-0 to Vila Viva Sorte. So, not wanting to ruin the fans’ joy, Peixe decided to give it his all. However, he made many mistakes in finishing and especially in the last pass. Guilherme was the player most in danger for Alvinegro Praiano. After all, the striker forced Matheus Albino to make two great saves and even found the net, but was offside. However, it was Galo who finished ahead against Baixada Santista.
Second half
Determined not to ruin the party, Santos returned more determined after the break and even scared Otero. The Venezuelan takes a shot and forces Matheus Albino to save. What changed the score, however, was the CRB. Anselmo Ramon scored a header and Kleiton tackled Gabriel Brazão to take the shot from the goalkeeper and score the second for the Alagoans. The goal sparked a revolt from fans who shouted “donkey” at Fábio Carille. The Fish was very nervous, he had a lot of difficulty creating. The best opportunity came in the 35th minute of the second half. The boy Luca Meirelles gave a beautiful pass to Guilherme, who stopped at Matheus Albino. On the rebound the young attacker tried to cover, but couldn’t even get past the goalkeeper. In the end, CRB manages to maintain their lead, escape relegation to Serie C and throw water on Alvinegro Praiano’s beer.
