“She is a MOTHER”joked the Academy’s own profile in the publication, which already has more than half a million likes and around 150 thousand comments, a much higher number than the publications of other artists, such as actors Andrew Garfield (All the Time We Have), Daniel Craig (Queer) and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn); the actresses Margaret Qualley (The Substance), Tilda Swinton (The Room Next Door) and Lupita Nyong’o (Wild Robot); and the director Dennis Villeneuve (Dune: Part 2), between others. What is the story of I’m Still Here?

Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Hereis set in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1970s, amid the military dictatorship, and tells the story of Eunicemother of five children, who becomes involved in an endless search for the truth after her husband, Rubensbe taken away by plainclothes police and disappear.
