Rob Zombie’s adaptation of the iconic 60s series The Munsters has been unveiled with some absolutely stunning first images ahead of its release on Netflix this fall.
The Munster family will be back! The characters of the sitcom Les Monstres, which aired from 1964 to 1966 on CBS, Herman, who looks like a creature of Frankenstein, and his recluse wife Lily were really rejuvenated thanks to Rob Zombie, The House of a Thousand Deaths (2003) and the first remake of Halloween (2007 ).
A big fan of the 60s series, the filmmaker chose to give it a cinematic version, which was originally supposed to be released on Peacock’s streaming platform, but which ended up on Netflix, as Rob Zombie revealed on Instagram.
“This fall, we’re going to rock like it’s 1964! Yes, monsters and The Addams Family are coming back to TV at the same time thanks to Netflix. 58 years have passed since this clash of the titans took place. Great entertainment for your pumpkin carving party,” he wrote in the caption of a montage showing a poster for his film and Tim Burton’s Wednesday Addams series, which will be released at the same time.
A few days ago, a trailer for The Munsters was released online, focusing on the love story between Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips) and Lily (Sherri Moon Zombie) (see above). Especially crazy pictures in which we can also see actors Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, Dee Wallace, Sylvester McCoy, Richard Brake and Cassandra Peterson.
The Munsters will be released on Netflix in the fall.
