The director was accused by his daughter Dylan Farrow of sexual abuse
Rebecca Hall and Woody Allen worked together twice: in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) and A Rainy Day in New York (2019).
In 2018, the actress apologized for having made the films amid the Time’s Up movement, against sexual violence in Hollywood.
Now, in an interview with The Guardian (via People) published last Sunday, 17, Hall expressed regret for the apology: “I kind of regret making that statement, because I don’t think it’s his actors’ responsibility to talk about this situation”
She further stated that “it’s unusual to make public statements about anything” and added: “I do things, that’s how I am political. I don’t consider myself an ‘actress-activist’, I’m not that person.”
Hall revealed that he donated his salary from the films Allen to the Time’s Up movement after learning about the accusation of Dylan Farrowin 2018. The daughter of Mia Farrow accuses the director of molesting her when she was just seven years old. Allen denies the accusations and never responded in the case.
Rebecca argued that the statements of Dylan showed that her “actions caused another woman to be silenced.”
“This is not something I am comfortable with at this time or any other, and I deeply regret it. I regret this decision and would not make it today,” she added.

To the The Guardian, Hall explained the change in position: “It ended up becoming something like, ‘One more person reports Woody Allen and regrets working with him,’ which is actually not what I said.”
The actress added: “I don’t regret working with him. He gave me a great job opportunity and was kind to me.”
“I don’t think we should be the ones to act as judge and jury in this case,” he said, also informing that he no longer has contact with the filmmaker.
If the situation occurred today, Hall admitted, “I wouldn’t say anything—my policy, actually, is to be an artist. Don’t go around declaring your stuff. I don’t think that makes me apathetic or disengaged. I just think that’s my job.”
