After a draw, the Minas Gerais team won the tie-break 18-16.
This Tuesday (19th), Sesc Flamengo hosted the Praia Clube women’s volleyball team, at Maracanãzinho, for the women’s volleyball Superliga. This match was extremely important for the Rossoneri teams, as the team was able to get more points and increase their level in the standings, but lost to the guests in a draw by 3 sets to 2.
Flamengo was coming off a series of consecutive victories in home matches, thus obtaining third place in the table. But it is Praia Clube who really lead the table with a total of six wins, without any defeats in the entire Superliga.
This situation did nothing but push the Rio team to enter the field with all possible vigor, making great saves and attacks that made the conditions of the Praia Clube more worrying. But once again it was Praia Clube who took home the victory, remaining in the lead.

1st sep
In the first set between Flamengo and Praia Clube, the home team started with the lead, opening the score, but Praia reacted and got closer. Flamengo’s central defenders, Lorena and Adria, had difficulty blocking, allowing Praia to take the lead. However, Michele shone in attack, finding spaces in the opposing defense and scoring important points.
In addition to Flamengo’s good performance, Praia Clube also showed failures in reception, which allowed gaps in the game. At the end of the set Helena, from Flamengo, misses an attack and gives a point to Praia, who brings her opponent even closer. However, Flamengo held firm and, with Michele’s decisive point, closed the set at 26×24, winning with a balance between attacks and defenses.
2nd set
In the second set the Minas Gerais team returned to the court trying to change the result, in search of victory, but it wasn’t enough, because Flamengo didn’t allow any gaps and returned to the court even more aggressive. Flamengo’s number 15, Helena, continued to stand out thanks to her serves and the player Carol with the withdrawals that made it even more difficult for Praia Clube. The set ended with a score of 25×23, with Flamengo the winner.
3rd set
The third set came to show what the possible outcome of the match would have been. Flamengo played very well in the first two sets, but Praia Clube returned to this new phase with much more determination than before. The change in behavior and concentration was evident, as the Minas Gerais team began to attack more and more, making more blocks which allowed them to catch up with Flamengo, with a draw in the first minutes of the scoreboard. Although Flamengo returned to the lead in the match, they made mistakes that became evident to Praia Clube who, soon after, showed that they would not accept this result so easily, soon achieving a 25×22 victory.
4th set
Praia Clube’s victory in the third set destabilized Flamengo, who had difficulties in defense. Given the situation of the Rubro-Negro team, Praia Clube managed to take advantage of the opportunities to turn them into points. But Flamengo, as time passed, reacted and managed to stay 4 points ahead of Praia Clube, with a score of 12×9. Players Helena and Juju continued to shine, producing good lifts and attacks which allowed Flamengo to secure another two points. Furthermore, Rose’s entry into the match also gave greater strength to the team.
Throughout the set there were important errors from both teams. Errors in Dentil Praia Clube’s serves and attacks led to points for Flamengo, who led 19×18. However, Praia regains control, turns the match on 21×19 and closes the set on 25×22, pressing in the decisive moments. In the final numbers, Flamengo scored no service points, while Praia managed one.
