In March 2023, AlloCiné was invited to film the mini-series Les Spies de la Terror, which is currently being broadcast on M6. On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 21:10 PM, the channel invites its viewers to watch the third and fourth episodes that conclude this fiction, adapted from the book of the same name by Mathieu Souk.
The duty to remember
Between Lille, Marseille, Paris, Orleans and Morocco, this project was completed in two and a half months (one part was completed in about 12 days). The mini-series was filmed in the studio of the production company Beaubourg TV in Tiais. This location has also been the filming location for flagship small screen series such as Balthazar, Vise le coeur or Profilage.
perfectly designed”workplace drama” (a drama series in which the characters evolve in their work environment), the location had several large sets so that the series teams could work on different scenes simultaneously.
With a particularly serious subject, Rodolphe Tissot found it necessary to do justice to the real story and especially to its real characters. The director said on our microphone:The challenge of telling this story is exciting, but we absolutely want to be flawless.“
Director’s vision
Actor Pierre Perrier (who plays Commander Alex LeBrun) confirmed these statements:Rudolph is great. He knows very well what he is doing. He is very picky. He has a lot of experience. We have a lot to do and a very fast pace, so we have to stay focused, but he steers his boat well!“
This great experience (Rodolph Tissot directed the TV movie Cleves and episodes The Last Wave, So Be They, The Little Murders of Agatha Christie, etc.) precisely allowed the filmmaker to join The Spies of Terror. He recalled: “ They came to me because they liked what I did on very different topics.“
“So for me, there’s something quite impressive about being entrusted with this story, not because I had already done the action scenes, but because they liked the way I handled the stories, the characters.”
“Television over-promotes things”
Rodolphe Tissot added:Television can sometimes have a tendency to want to be a bit educational, this makes it easy. He over-promotes things. Frank Philippon We were able to find a good balance, I think, between maintaining the complexity of the story we’re telling, which takes place over a year, while still being accessible and exciting..”
Pierre Perrier concludes:We try to pay tribute to the work that has been done behind the scenes at the intelligence level, because it is very little known. We all have the same images in our minds, but the general public doesn’t know much about this whole journey.“
And to ensure 100% accuracy of the sequences shown in Terror Spies, actual DGSE and DGSI agents were consulted! In this way, real documentary work was carried out to create a realistic view at the heart of these events that marked the French forever.
The sequel and finale of Spies of Terror can be seen tonight on the M6 from 9.10pm.
