Adoption and abandonment of a Brazilian became the subject of a book in Italy

“Nobody’s Son” will be released this Friday (22nd) in Modena

The adoption and then abandonment of a Brazilian by an Italian couple is the subject of a book by the journalist Valentina Reggiani and the protagonist Douglas Dall’Asta, out this Friday (22nd), at the Phi Hotel Canalgrande in Modena, Italy.

The work “Son of Nobody” has a text that addresses current issues, such as adoption, abandonment, foster care, prison, the street and support for parenting.

In collaboration with the publishing house Incontri and Modenamoremio, the authors will be present at the launch of the publication, as well as the lawyer who followed the central case of the affair, Gianluca Barbiero, and the deputy Stefania Ascari.

Currently 26 years old, Dall’Asta was adopted in Brazil by an Italian couple from Piadena, in the Cremona area, who came to the country to look for him when he was just nine years old. Upon his arrival in Italy, however, after only four days spent in the home of those who had been introduced to him as his new parents, he was abandoned for the second time.

From that moment on, what should have marked the beginning of a new life became the beginning of his ordeal: the movements from one community to another, life on the streets, up to maturity, drugs, prison and Above all, the constant search for an identity.

After a long legal battle, the adoptive parents were forced to keep him, as requested first by a decision of the court of Cremona and then by the Court of Appeal of Brescia.

Now Dall’Asta has decided to tell his story, to strip naked so that no one will ever feel “surrendered” like what happened to him. His story wants to remind us that every child has the right to a safe and loving family environment, without the burden of abandonment and isolation, and that no other minor should feel like “no one’s child”. .
