Landman: Does Taylor Sheridan’s new series tie into Yellowstone?

At first glance, everything suggests that the new Landman series is somewhat Yellowstone’s little sister. The two programs have in common their creator, Taylor Sheridan, but also their vision of the threat of traditional America disappearing.

It doesn’t matter that one takes place in Montana and the other in Texas, both series have the same critical look in our time.

So it’s perfectly legitimate to wonder if Landman and Yellowstone take place in the same world. Especially since the Western series has already been the subject of two prequels (1883 and 1923) and other spin-offs will see the light of day (6666, Madison and 1944).

Could Dutton’s path cross Tommy Norris’ path in the near future?

Is a crossover possible between Landman and Yellowstone?

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that the cowboy played by Billy Bob Thornton will ever make it to Montana. Although this information was never made official by Taylor Sheridan, the Landman series was always considered an independent object.

Like Tulsa King, The Mayor of Kingstown, or even Lioness (other series created by the writer), Landman therefore has no connection to the universe of the Yellowstone franchise.

Thus, a crossover between the two series is impossible, unless of course Taylor Sheridan finally decides to integrate his entire series into one connected universe.

Landman Season 2 is set to begin filming soon, and The Tulsa King is in talks to renew for two more seasons. Whether they decide to stick with Yellowstone or not, Taylor Sheridan’s series seems to be an equal success with American audiences.

Episodes of Landman can be seen every Monday exclusively on Paramount+, and are also available with a subscription to Canal+.
