US President-elect Donald Trump said Monday he will sign a bill that will impose a 25% tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada entering the United States.
“On January 20, as one of my first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary paperwork to impose a 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada on ALL products entering the United States and its ridiculous open borders,” Trump said in a well-known post on Truth Social.
Trump said the tariffs would remain in place until both countries crack down on drugs like fentanyl and immigrants crossing the border illegally.
