Indiana Jones and the Great Circle “is MachineGames’ biggest and longest game”

The new adventure of the world’s most famous archaeologist will have almost four hours of footage

MachineGames recently talked more about the scope of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, stating that this will be their “biggest and longest game” to date.

“Without a doubt, this is the biggest and longest game Machine Games has ever made”said creative director Axel Torvenius in an interview with MinnMax. The specific duration was not declared, but if we take into account that Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, also made by the studio, last approximately 11-17 hours (via How long to beat) depending on the content you choose in the campaign + extras, Indiana Jones should probably last at least 20 hours, as there will be a lot of puzzles and exploration.

As for the number of hours of cutscenes in the game, Torvenius said so “It’s about three hours and 45 or 40 minutes or something. That’s a lot”. This means that the cutscenes will last as long as two Indiana Jones films.

The interview also suggests that this is the Indiana Jones game that Bethesda boss Todd Howard suggested to George Lucas in 2009 (via GamesRadar), and that the fundamental lines of the history of the Great Circle have remained alive over the last 15 years.
