Every day, AlloCiné recommends watching a movie (again) on TV. Tonight: Eric and Ramsay, Police Investigation, Gagfest, incredible looks, but also a colorful set.
After La Tour Montparnasse Infernale, Les Dalton and Seouls Two, Eric and Ramsey are co-writing their fourth feature film, titled Halal State Policethus expanding their own absurd world.
The film is a parody of the detective series “L’Inspecteur Tahar”, which was very popular in Algeria in the 1970s, and American thrillers, which deliberately takes the opposite view. The film’s title is also a reference to the American television series Hawaii State Police, which starred Jack Lord and James MacArthur.
Co-writers of the script, the comedian duo also interpret the main characters: Inspector Ner-Nerh and “Kabil”, who is responsible for investigating a series of murders of Arab grocery stores in the Barbe district of Paris. Directed by Rachid Dhibo (cinematographer and director of photography for Luc Besson), the film thus denounces racism under the guise of burlesque and surreal humor.
