Botafogo arrived at Galeão with the Copa Libertadores in their luggage at 4.13pm this Sunday, after beating Atlético-MG 3-1, at the Monumental de Núñez, last Saturday, and conquering America for the first time in its history. The team’s flight from the Argentine capital lasted about three hours.

According to the “GE” website, around 300 fans met the team at the airport exit to welcome the team in person. The fans gathered in three different points in the city of Rio de Janeiro: General Severiano, home of the social club, in front of the Mourisco and at the exit of Galeão airport.

The team’s arrival was about an hour later than initially expected. The journey to Enseada de Botafogo took about 50 minutes. The team arrived at its final destination, Edifício Mourisco, at 6.30pm.
