‘I couldn’t move’: For Cat’s Eyes on TF1, Claire Romain had to face one of her fears.

Being a cat’s eye is no child’s play!

While Tam, Celia and Alexia seem fearless, climbing buildings with their bare hands and jumping from roof to roof without a safety net, the reality of filming for their performers was very different.

Indeed, Camille Lou, Constance Labbe and Claire Romain had to undergo intensive training to make their characters believable. And while some approached these challenges easily, for Claire Romain, Alexia’s translator, the task proved more difficult. It must be said that the latter had an additional challenge: his vertigo.

Behind Alexia’s apparent confidence is an actress who had to learn to overcome her fears in order to play her role.

“That’s the first question I’ve been asked.”

It is in columns Recreational television That Claire Romain has heard about what she had to overcome on the set of Cat’s Eyes.

“During the casting, this was the first question I was asked“- he explains. The question is far from trivial, when we know that the adventures of the Chamadi sisters are full of many high scenes.

To prepare, Claire Romain took climbing lessons. However, even a few centimeters from the ground, vertigo was a major obstacle for the actor. “When we started the climbing lessons, we were 1.50 meters from the ground, my legs were already shaking. I was stunned, I couldn’t move! I was a weird little cry hanging on the wall. This is something I had to work on“.

If filming wasn’t easy for him, Episode 4 tested his resolve even more. Stopped under the Bercy Bridge, Claire Romain had to deal with her fear of heights.

He explains, “There are scenes where I even cried, like the scene where Alexia is hanging from the Bridge of Bers. My character had to be super calm on the phone while I was super stressed. I could see water from below. I was very scared, even though I knew I was hanging on the harness“.

It is important that this experience at least allowed the actor to overcome himself. And finally, “I had to overcome my mind. With Cat’s Eyes, I really learned to push myself“.
