A man was carrying out maintenance work in a pavilion in the industrial district when he fell from a height of around 7 metres.
On the afternoon of Tuesday 3 December, an industrial accident caused the death of a man in the industrial district of Panambi, in the north-west of Rio Grande do Sul. The victim, who was carrying out an outsourced maintenance and repair service on a pavilion, fell from a height of approximately 7 metres.
The firefighters were called and, upon arriving at the scene, found that the man was already dead. The body was transferred to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), where tests will be carried out to establish whether the victim had a sudden illness before the fall or whether the death was caused by the impact of the accident.
The identity of the victim had not been released at the time of publication. The accident highlights the importance of safety when working at height, one of the highest risk sectors in the industrial environment.
