CCXP24 brings together international stars, Wagner Moura and ‘O Auto da Compadecida 2’; see highlights

The event begins in Sao Paulo starting this Thursday (5), with the promise of new developments in the world of films and series.

The Sao Paulo Expo, in the North Zone of Sao Paulo, will be stormed by fans of comics, anime, films and series from December 5th to 8th. After all, it has already begun CCXP24annual convention dedicated to presenting the news that film studios, TV and streaming platforms have in store for next year.

This year stars such as Ana de Armas, Norman Reedus, Matt Smith and Anya Taylor-Joy are among the names confirmed at the fair. Added to this, of course, is the traditional Artist’s Alley, considered “the heart of CCXP”, which brings together artists and creators in a space dedicated to the purchase and sale of products.

Thursday (05)

5.45pm: CCXP Presents: Matt Smith

The ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ star will be at the event for the first time to tell behind-the-scenes stories of his career and interact with fans.

6.45pm: Spin the Wheel with Arcane

Composer Alex “Mako” Seaver, screenwriter Amanda Overton, and voice actors Mick Wingert (voice of Heimerdinger) and Reed Shannon (voice of Ekko) reunite to discuss the second season of Arcane, focusing on the seventh episode, “Pretend It’s the first time.”

7.45pm: Crunchyroll billboard

Anime fans will be well served this year. Crunchyroll will have an exclusive panel to reveal the platform’s major innovations for 2025 and beyond.

Friday (06)

1pm: CCXP presents: Giancarlo Esposito

Breaking Bad’s eternal Gus Fring will have a special panel dedicated to his career, and will remember his epic characters while providing details on his upcoming projects.

3.30pm: MSP’s audiovisual journey: launches boosting the Brazilian market

The Maurício de Sousa Produções panel is already a traditional CCXP event and this time Maurício de Sosusa, Marcos Saraiva, Mauro Sousa and guests will talk about what is yet to come in the films and series derived from Turma da Mônica.

7.45pm: CCXP presents: Winner of the Year: Wagner Moura

One of the biggest Brazilian stars today, Wagner Moura will be present at the event to receive the Honoree of the Year award, for his career and contribution to the national audiovisual and his impact globally.

Saturday (07)

11:00: O Car from Compadecida 2

Selton Mello, Matheus Nachtergaele, Virginia Cavendish, Fabiula Nascimento, directors Flavia Lacerda, Guel Arraes and João Suassuna will talk about the sequel which will be released in theaters in December, with the film screening immediately following the panel.

1.45pm: If it’s new, it’s on Globoplay

The streaming platform will hold a panel celebrating the platform’s 10th anniversary, with news on the platform’s upcoming releases, such as a Raul Seixas biographical series and the new season of Arcanjo Renegado.

3pm: Apple TV+

Anya Taylor-Joy, Miles Teller, Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Dan Erickson will be on stage to talk about the second season of “Ruptura” and the movie “Between Mountains”.

4.15pm: Paramount+: A Journey to the Top of the Mountain

The stars of Yellowjackets and the stars of Dexter: Original Sin come to Brazil to reveal first-hand details about upcoming releases. Christian Slater, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Dempsey, Patrick Gibson and Sophie Nélisse will be among us and promise big surprises.

5.30pm: Sonic 3 – The Movie

Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, director Jeff Fowler and producers Neal Moritz and Toby Ascher take to the stage to tell firsthand the news on Sonic 3, now with the arrival of Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any something else they faced before.

7.30pm: What you want to see is on Prime Video

The fantasy of The Wheel of Time, the animation of Secret Level, the superheroes of Unbroken, the romance of Your Fault, the action of Reacher and much more! The great stars of the Prime Video series will be present at the panel, such as Alan Ritchson, Sandra Oh, Robert Kirkman and Gillian Jacobs, as well as Marina Ruy Barbosa, Felipe Simas, Ullisses Campbell, Bianca Comparato, who will talk about the new series for the first time Tremembé.

Sunday (08)

11:00: Chico Bento and the Maraviósa Goiabeira

Paris Filme brings the first screening of Chico Bento to CCXP24 and to Goiabeira Maraviosa, the live-action of Mauricio de Sousa’s character. The exhibition will see the presence of the artists Chico Bento (Isaac Amendoim), Zé Lelé (Pedro Dantas), Rosinha (Anna Julia Dias), Zé da Roça (Guilherme Tavares), Hiro (Davi Okabe) and Tábata (Lorena de Oliveira), as well to the director Fernando Fraiha and the executive director of Mauricio de Sousa Produções.

3.45pm: TV Globo presents: Vale Tudo

The most anticipated remake in Brazil is coming! Globo will present a panel on what will happen in the new version of Vale Tudo. It is not yet known which actors will be present at the presentation.

6.00pm: Dune: The Prophecy

HBO’s new original series, set in the Dune universe, will have a detailed mid-season conversation with exclusive previews. Featuring showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker, executive producer Jordan Goldberg, along with Travis Fimmel (Desmont Hart) and Jade Anouka (Sister Theodosia).

7.00pm: Dancer

Paris Filmes presents the news of the new film in the John Wick universe, with the presence of the protagonist Ana de Armas, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane, already known from the previous films of the franchise. Director Len Wiseman will also be present to comment on the production.
