Who will have the broadcast rights to the Brazilian Championship in 2025?

The Campeonato Brasileiro is the country’s largest sporting event and main national football competition, and broadcast rights represent a major source of revenue for clubs.

From 2025 onwards, however, there will be significant changes in broadcasting contracts, with new “players” interested in broadcasting matches. In this text we will explain how the broadcast of matches will work. Follow us!

With broadcast contracts expiring at the end of the 2024 season, clubs have decided to organize themselves into blocks to negotiate broadcast rights. Currently, these negotiations are conducted by two main leagues: and the .

The law of the agent

It allows the host club to have full control over the broadcast rights of their matches, without the need for an agreement with the opposing club. This way, the home team can negotiate individually with television stations or streaming platforms, simplifying the licensing process and creating a new source of revenue for clubs.

Where will the matches be broadcast?

The broadcasts of the two blocks will take place on different media, such as open TV, streaming and closed channels, divided as follows:

Libra: Globo Group

The matches of the Libra teams will be broadcast on open TV by Globo, in addition to the group’s closed and streaming channels, such as Premiere and SporTV.

LFU: Record, YouTube (via CazéTV) and Amazon Prime Video

In LFU the transmission will happen like this:

Furthermore, Globo will maintain the traditional Sunday time slot, at 4pm, considered the prime time for football on TV. Record will also broadcast a match on Sunday, but at 6pm.
