Duo met while filming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Sequel to the classic 1988 film directed by Tim Burton, Ghosts Still Have Fun: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) marks the return of Michael Keaton in one of his most famous roles. At the same time, the work introduced some new faces, such as Jenna Ortegaone of the most popular actresses of the moment.
Naturally, both the veteran actor and the young actress ended up meeting while filming the work. However, the duo’s first meeting happened in a very unusual way.
Participating in the presenter’s program Jimmy Fallontranscribed by MovieWeb, Ortega shared a behind-the-scenes series about the film. At one point, he revealed that he had met Keaton characterized as Beetlejuice.
The artist said:
He came up behind me. I was doing a hair and makeup test when I felt a poke on my shoulder, I turned around and I was definitely shocked. He said, ‘Hey, it’s me, the Michael‘, and his skin was peeling.”
Interestingly, upon seeing his colleague mischaracterized for the first time, Jenna introduced himself to him again. The reason? He didn’t remember the previous meeting.
I took it in stride and it remained that way until I met him for the second time, without my hair and makeup, as I introduced myself to him again because I had forgotten that I had already met him.”

In another part of the interview (via NBC), Jenna Ortega admitted to feeling intimidated by the original cast members of Ghosts Still Have Fun: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Despite this, the 22-year-old artist assured that she had a good relationship with everyone.
Never in my wildest dreams did I foresee something like this happening. Michael It’s the coolest. Obviously, a character like Beetlejuice It’s so iconic and loved. AND Lydia (character from Winona Ryder) is the coolest character on this planet.”
