Punishers arrives on Netflix in September 2022 and has a strong cast
Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) and Camila Mendes (Riverdale) are the protagonists of the new dark comedy of Netflix. Entitled Punishersthe film arrives on streaming on September 16 this year.
The plot accompanies Drea (Mendes)the typical popular high school girl, who wants revenge on her boyfriend for releasing an intimate video of the two while meeting Eleanor (Hawke)who also seeks revenge after a girl spreads a rumor that she tried to force a kiss, causing Eleanor was excluded from school.
Motivated to turn things around, the unlikely duo decide to team up in this “Hitchcockian” teen movie. “We designed this revenge story backwards: what it would be like to take the fun and exciting stakes of a horror movie. [Alfred] Hitchcock and put them in high school?,” said the principal Jennifer Kaytin Robinson The ELLE.
Unlike most teen movies, Punishers It doesn’t have stereotypes like good guys and villains. “I think there are different points where everyone is the villain and everyone is the hero in this story,” explained the director. “And that’s a lot of what it’s like to grow up. I wanted to do something that would paint teenagers in full color.”
