Jorge and Mateus announce career break after 20-year tour: ‘The last show for an indefinite time’

In an interview, the duo said they will perform 21 shows across Brazil

The country duo Giorgio and Matteo announced this Monday, 9, the launch of a tour to celebrate 20 year career for next year. According to the two, after the introductions, they will go on an indefinite term “rest, enjoy and compose”.

“Probably, whoever will be with us throughout this tour will probably watch the last show of an indefinite period that we will take to rest. We’ve been talking about it for 20 years and, since I was 18, we’ve been away from home every weekend. We decided internally to take some time,” Mateus said.

The journalist André Piunti says this in an interview. According to them, the break will be taken to dedicate themselves to other things such as family, for example. “[Vamos tirar] some time on the road, at shows, to travel every week. I think we should focus on other things too, so we can continue telling this story for longer“Jorge said.

“I myself feel the need to take a break, to travel less, to dedicate myself to composition, production and there is another child on the way for Mateus, I also have three small children. We must therefore rest our minds after these twenty years,” he added.

Mateus once again emphasized that the period is not defined and that it exists “more than three months and less than two years”.

20th Anniversary Tour

On social media the duo announced dates and locations where the shows should take place in 2025. The performances will begin in April, in Saint Pauland last until December 29th, in Santa Catarina. Ticket sales have not yet been released. Check:
