Disney + has released the trailer for “Welcome to Wrexham”, FX’s documentary production reminiscent of a “Ted Lasso” in real life, with a cast led by Ryan Reynolds (The Deadpool) and Rob McElhenney (creator of “There always the sun in Philadelphia “).
The series follows the two Hollywood stars’ adventure in Wales as they take control of the Wrexham AFC Welsh football team, which plays in the British league’s fifth division.
The production records the receptivity of the small town of Wrexham to the proposal, with the hope that the duo will be able to take the team to glories never seen before, by committing an immediate investment of 2.5 million dollars to make it competitive.
Wrexham is the third oldest football club in the world and has a stadium, the Hippodrome, which opened in 1807.
The team currently participates in the National Conference, equivalent to the fifth division of British football, which begins a new edition in August. But in their presentation of the deal, Reynolds and McElhenney pledged to work “to make Wrexham a global force.”
