Horror is definitely growing on both the big and small screens. Despite a modest initial budget, Ti West’s X-rated film was a success in theaters and allowed the other two installments—Pearl and MaXXXine—to see the light of day. Now, Ti West will continue his horror spree, but serially!
we learn through Diversity that the director is attached to a project currently running on Prime Video. The streamer started creating a horror-comedy called Bloodlust, and it was singer-songwriter Halsey who was commissioned to produce the series.
What will Bloodlust be?
Halsey – whose last name is Ashley Frangipani! – will be the creator, screenwriter and executive producer of Bloodlust, but will not star in the series. Ti West is exclusively attached to direct and executive produce, with Mark Friedman (Severance, Les Envoyés d’ailleurs) on board as executive producer and showrunner. Anthony Lee, Halsey’s manager, is also an executive producer. Finally, Amazon MGM Studios is producing the series.
The exact details of the plot are being kept secret. The project has been in the works at Amazon for some time, with Halsey, Lee and Friedman, but no details have been revealed until now.
who is halsey
The series reunites Halsey and Ti West, who recently wrote, directed and produced MaXXXine, the third film in the X trilogy, starring Halsey as Tabby Martin.
The singer also starred in the movie A Star Is Born, as well as the Showtime series Roadies and the animated series Scooby-Doo and Company. He also had roles in Americana and Tous en Scene 2.
He is of course best known for his music career, releasing the hit studio albums Badlands, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Manic, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power and, most recently, The Great Impersonator. Soon we will be able to discover his talent as a screenwriter.
