The First Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) has rejected the appeal against the decision that led to the seizure of Marcos do Val’s (Podemos-ES) passport since August. The politician tried to appeal, arguing that the lack of a passport “prevents the exercise of his role as senator of the Republic, especially on the occasion of demonstrations, commissions and international organizations”, and that the blocking of social networks “interferes with the carrying out “its role. activity.

The rejection of his appeal was unanimous. “The suspect insists on not complying with the orders imposed on him, uttering speeches with visibly untrue contents so that they can be replicated on third-party social networks, in clear affront and complete contempt of the Judiciary”, writes the rapporteur, Alexandre de Moraes.

Marcos do Val was denied a passport on suspicion of being part of a group carrying out a campaign of coercion against federal police officers.
