From 14 to 21 December 2024, the 16th edition of the Arcs Film Festival celebrates, as every year, the richness and diversity of European cinema. This unmissable event dedicated to the 7th art is also a highlight of the music, an element that is simply inseparable from the greatest cinematic works. To support the festival in this process, Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers) is here again!
And the prize “Film Music Composer Announcement” will be awarded…
In addition to the many prizes awarded each year to the feature films presented in the competition and some of their performers, one prize in particular focuses on the work and career of a female composer.
Created in 2022 by Les Arcs Film Festival, Lab Femmes de Cinéma and Sacem, the award “Proclaiming a Female Film Music Composer” aims to promote equality and inclusion in the film music sector by highlighting the talent of female film music composers, while highlighting the small number of women, who are currently engaged in this profession and the need to develop the situation.
Gather on Monday, December 16 at 7pm at Manoir Savoie, Arcs 1950 to see this award presented to Audrey Ismael, a French singer, songwriter and producer from Reunion Island. In 2024, he particularly distinguished himself for Agathe Riedinger’s Diamant brut, which was selected in the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival, and for Julien Colonna’s drama Le Kingdom.

Previously, Audrey Ismail also signed original soundtracks for the series Les Grands, Vortex and Germinal, before recently working on the films La Voie Royale and Le Consentement, the latter in collaboration with Olivier Courrier.
Conferences should not be missed!
In parallel with this award ceremony, on Monday, December 16, two special conferences are dedicated to film music.
The first, held at 10 a.m. at the Manoir Savoie (1950), examines the genre of musical comedies, with the presence of the chorus from the film Les Reines du drama (directed by Alexis Langlois, produced by Innes Diane Das and composed by Pierre Desprat). Also Pierre-Marie Dru, musical director of Jacques Audiard’s film Emilia Perez.
Second, it is The Count of Monte Cristo, one of the year’s greatest hits, that will be at the center of the conference, 1950. Directed by Pierre-Marie Dru and edited by Celia Lafitedupont.
During the Arcs film festival, Sacem will support the participation of composers in the talent village and support the music village, as well as the prize for the best original music.
