Palmeiras have agreed to sign Orlando City striker Facundo Torres and are just waiting for the announcement of his medical tests. The Uruguayan is 24 years old and will have a five-year contract with Verdão, who is looking for more reinforcements for Alviverde’s attack this summer.

The fixed price for Facundo is 12 million dollars (about 72 million reals), in addition to bonuses that have not been disclosed. Verdão still has around R$130 million to invest in reinforcements in this transfer window.

Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira is also looking for players for the roles of attacker and center forward.

Palmeiras, projecting the 2025 squad, had already defined that it would be necessary to go to the market to sign two wingers: Lázaro and Dudu have already left the team, and Estêvão will remain at the club until the Super World Cup, before moving to the English. Chelsea team.

For the wingers, Palmeiras’ idea is to look for a more experienced player, who does not need to undergo the maturation process at the Football Academy. This fact makes an operation on the domestic market difficult, as they will have to convince their direct rivals to agree to reinforce a rival club.

Jhon Arias, from Fluminense, met the profile sought by the Alviverde team, but Palmeiras has already received the signal that the Rio club will not sell the striker to another Brazilian team.

In command of the attack, Verdão wants an area center forward. The search for this feature is in the South American market. LDU’s Alex Arce from Ecuador mentioned his name in meetings between the council and Abel Ferreira.

At 29, the striker is in the best moment of his career, following modest numbers until 2023, when he scored 26 times in 32 games for Independiente Rivadavia, Argentina.

This season, he scored 35 goals in 44 games for LDU. Palmeiras did not open negotiations despite being well valued, nor did they make formal contact with the Paraguayan center forward’s agent.

Finally, Verdão’s plan for 2025 includes five hires. In addition to two wingers and a centre-forward, Palmeiras is interested in a second midfielder and a left-footed defender.
