Now it has become a habit. Since its release in 2019, the writers of Virgin River have made a habit of closing the new season with many cliffhangers that leave us with only one desire: to see what happens next! And Season 6, which hit Netflix online this Thursday, December 19th, is clearly no exception.
A lot happened in the last episode of the season. Mike (Marco Grazini) proposes to Bree (Zibby Allen), even though he knows full well that she slept with Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth).
The latter, in turn, discovered that Lark, his lover, had left Virgin River with all his savings, and Doc learned that his license to practice medicine had been suspended.
What happened to Charmaine?
But the biggest mystery of this Season 6 finale obviously revolves around Charmaine’s disappearance. Although he has to take care of Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) on her wedding day, the hairdresser is definitely not.
A worried Jack (Martin Henderson) decides to go to her house to check on her. There he found the door of the house open. Once inside, he finds signs of a struggle.
The episode ends with Jack opening the twins’ bedroom door with a look of shock. But what did he see? Patrick Sean Smith, Virgin River’s showrunner, returned to this rock with our colleagues. TVInsider.
“I can tell you that the twins are safe. I was especially worried about Charmaine“- he revealed. “After season 5 and the miscarriage, I can promise you that no babies will be harmed in the future of the series, but the circumstances are murky and Charmaine is at the center of it all.”
Patrick Sean Smith also said that Martin Henderson didn’t know what Jack was supposed to see in that scene. “I saw where he did it perfectly, and then he stopped, looked at the camera, and asked me, “Why didn’t they write the thing that’s hanging out the door?”“- laughed the host of the show.
The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to answer that question. “When Season 7 starts, there will be a time jump of about two hours, so we’ll pick up and continue the story.“, he explained. “I love that kind of momentum from one season to the next“.
Will the clinic close?
The other question left at the end of Season 6 is what happens to Doc (Tim Matheson) and his clinic. His license to practice medicine was suspended pending the investigation.
Hope (Annette O’Toole) also discovers that Grace Valley Hospital is looking to locate in Virgin River. They want it after the clinic. “I think it’s a really unique opportunity for our show because even though we’re not a traditional medical show, we still have that aspect of the show. “
