Santos will meet a new opponent in the pre-season Orlando Cup in January


The American team will participate in the tournament, in Florida, USA, replacing Atlético Nacional, of Colombia




Santos will face Miami United in an Orlando Cup friendly on January 11, 2025, in Florida, United States. The American club will replace Colombian Atlético Nacional, which withdrew from participation in the tournament due to bureaucratic problems. The clash against the Jerseys will be Peixe’s first in the pre-season competition.

The match between Santos and Miami United will take place on January 11, 2025 at 18:00 (Brasilia time) at the Inter&Co Stadium. With a capacity of 25,000 people, the arena will also host FIFA Club World Cup matches between June and July.

The Orlando Cup organization encountered difficulties in finding a replacement for Atlético Nacional and, consequently, maintaining the tournament format. The Colombian club announced its departure due to difficulties in obtaining entry visas into the country for some athletes.

Peixe’s participation in the pre-season tournament will mainly serve as a test for the team that will return to the national football elite in 2025. It is understood that the duels can help prepare for challenges against opponents of different styles and at the competitive pace of the Brazilian Calendar .

Three days after the duel against Miami United, the Santos team faces Fortaleza, the second and last Brazilian representative in the tournament. The match will take place on Tuesday, January 14, at 8:00 pm (Brasilia time), at the Osceola County Stadium.

The duels will mark the first edition of the Orlando Cup, between January 11th and 19th. The teams – Santos, Fortaleza and Miami United – will face each other to determine the winner.
