“In some patients, motion sickness may decrease with prolonged exposure to the stimulus responsible for generating the symptoms, as the body becomes accustomed to this situation,” he adds.

In some cases, it may be interesting to take a medicine that also helps solve this problem. “When crises are very frequent, we can recommend the preventive use of antidopaminergic and antihistamine drugs, which will act on the receptors involved in the physiology of nausea and vomiting to control them. In more serious cases, in which motion sickness causes severe and frequent symptoms, we can also recommend vestibular rehabilitation therapy, which consists of a series of exercises that will lead to habituation to specific stimuli, such as movement during travel”, says the professional.
