The plan to launch the luxury brand’s electric cars is postponed by a year and a half, until mid-2027
Toyota has decided to postpone the start of production of the new generation of electric models until mid-2027: initially it was expected that the Lexus EV would arrive in 2026.
The information was published by the Japanese news agency NHK. According to the site, the initial idea to launch a battery-powered model was postponed because the manufacturer preferred to have more time to test new technologies.
It is worth mentioning that Toyota revealed its new concepts in Mobility exhibition in Japanlast year. Models that are part of the Lexus EV division, the manufacturer’s luxury electric vehicles, would have a range of 1,000 km and recharge their batteries from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
