After attracting 10.8 million viewers at the cinema, Un p’tit truc en plus recently landed on MyCanal. Therefore, the phenomenon of 2024 staged by Artus continues on its way to attract even more fans!
For his directorial debut, Artus received a strong reception in this feel-good comedy starring disabled actors and actresses. The artist absolutely wanted to work with them to make his feature film as authentic as possible.
A little extra, but a great challenge
However, it was a real challenge to adapt to people with disabilities and get used to filming. So the logistics were difficult: 15 roles, each shooting 35 days, plus parents and teachers behind the camera.
Artus didn’t want to make an “able-bodied movie” where we occasionally see disabled characters passing by to remind us that they’re there: “For me, they were at the center and the film was the chorus: so there is no scene without them. Then everyone in the group had a special place.” He confides.
“And we had to find, with each of them, a specific technique to use – for Ludovic the best thing was a headset, but Arno preferred that I say his speech in front of him so he could repeat it… They didn’t. They knew the shooting field and its rules, they didn’t care – they came to play… it was up to us to adapt, it depended on us.”Artus explains.
Even if everything was done to calm these novice actors, the start of filming was still very difficult between Alice Bellaid and Marie Colin. The latter, who is disabled, plays Mari, one of the film’s standout characters, who often accidentally takes things on her head.

Gain Mary’s trust
guest of the show In Aside on Canal+The educator’s interpreter, named Alice, spoke about the difficult relationship between her and Marie Colin. “Ah, but then we don’t look at each other at all! We eat pies, yes sure! Ah no then Marie, he couldn’t hit me. There really”The 37-year-old actor confides.
Marie, he couldn’t break me. But no, don’t lie to me; He didn’t want me there at all.
“I think he wanted me to play.”Alice Bellaid continues. “He was jealous because I think he fell a little bit in love with Artus, so he was a little jealous because I played a bit of Artus’ lover in the movie, so he couldn’t kill me.”The actor points.
“When I was at the combine, on the little screen behind the camera, he was putting these pies on the combine: ‘Get out of there!'”
“It’s already pissing me off that I can’t interact with him and then things are difficult on set because I still have to manage him, but he doesn’t want me to touch him and I don’t want to be super intrusive.”Alice Bellaid recalls.

Play closer
The artist no longer knows what to do to try to calm down the situation in order to obtain cooperation with Marie Colin for the needs of the film. He then mentions that he called his father to ask for advice. The latter invites him to try to play with him.
“You’re funny, she’s going to stick pies in my face, it’s going to be hard”Alice Bellaid will answer her father. “The next day he has a doll and I’m like, ‘Do you want to play mom and dad?’ And then he looks at me and says, ‘Okay, I’m the mom, Artus is the dad, and you’re the baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Okay, okay, what’s my name? How many Am I old? He said, “Is that your name, are you 9 or 8” and it was from there.reveals the actor.
He became my friend, I became his friend, and he is a very important person in my life.
Against all odds, playing with Marie unlocked the situation and the two women eventually became friends. “Mari, I think, calls me 5 times a day, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, she became my friend, I also became her friend, and she is a very important person in my life, I believe that I am an important person for her, and she means a lot to me today, because I know that his love is pure, sincere.”Alyssa Bellaid concludes.
