Guardians of the Galaxy: 3 movies and a serial project were being made at Marvel

Guardians of the Galaxy was James Gunn’s passion project in the MCU. He came up with the story, directed the trilogy and brought it great success. With a brilliant cast, the Guardians era has become iconic – but it’s officially over.

Now at the helm of DC, James Gunn Focused on creating Marvel’s biggest rival. Meanwhile, Marvel looks set to put Guardians on hiatus or completely reimagine who knows.

In a recent conversation with Josh Horowitz on the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast, James Gunn Revealed an intriguing detail: Marvel has planned several spin-offs Guardians of the Galaxyoffers a fascinating glimpse of what might have been.

He hereby confirmed that before the end of the cooperation James GunnMarvel created three spin-off projects Guardians of the GalaxyEverything is promising. One of them was a Ravagers series set in the Yondu era, potentially allowing for the wild adventures of this unorthodox crew.

The second was a project focused on the leader of the Guardians, Star-Lord (“Legendary Star-Lord”) Chris Pratt played his role again. While Gunn isn’t involved, he expressed excitement for Marvel to explore more stories with Star-Lord, even confirming his ongoing friendship with Pratt.

Finally, the “Rocket & Groot” project was also supposed to see the light of day, before the final film and James Gunn expressed real regret that it was not implemented. Considering how the last movie veered into Rocket’s story, it seems like some ideas were incorporated into the movie.

While Gunn’s departure from Marvel Studios may have doomed these spin-offs, it’s possible that they could one day thrive without him, just like other MCU spin-offs. So continue.
