Manuel Carlos became a topic of discussion again this Friday (03), after the news about his health. The iconic author’s team confirmed it his Parkinson’s disease has worsened. Long before he was diagnosed with the neurological disorder, the artist was already suffering from it the death of three of his five children, a situation similar to that of singer Roberto Carlos.
The first to leave was Ricardo. Playwright and author, he joined his father in writing the miniseries “O Cometa”, broadcast by the Band. He died at the age of 32 due to complications from the HIV virus.
In 2012, director Manoel Carlos Júnior died of a heart attack. At 58, he was the author’s eldest son. Due to the loss of the heir, the telenovela “Em Família”, which would have replaced “Salve Jorge”, was postponed and will only air in 2014.
The year in which Manoel’s last telenovela was broadcast was also the year in which he had to deal with the loss of his youngest son.
