Gonçalo Paciência should be announced in the next few days as Leão da Ilha’s new reinforcement. The club has only one athlete in this position
Sport is close to announcing an international reinforcement for its squad. Portuguese striker Gonçalo Paciência, 30, should arrive in Recife in the next few days and wear the Rossoneri shirt. The club will work with the player to finalize the final details of the contract and make the announcement.
The striker currently plays for Sanfrecce Hiroshima, in Japanese football, where he has played 13 matches and scored four goals. Paciência played for Porto and Rio Ave, Portugal, as well as Celta de Vigo, Olympiakos, Schalke 04, Bochum and Eintracht Frankfurt, in European football. The player competed in the 2016 Olympics for the Portuguese team, scoring three goals in the tournament.
Patience fills a gap in the Sport roster. Given that Zé Roberto will only return to the pitch in the second half of 2025, due to a knee ligament injury, Leão only has Gustavo Coutinho as an attacking option.
