Crime Squad: How did the action movie with Gerard Butler end?

In 2018, Christian Gudegast directed Crime Squad, an effective action film starring Gerard Butler as Big Nick, a tough cop on the trail of a gang of robbers including Pablo Schreiber (Ray), 50 Cent (Anson) and Oshie Jackson Jr. (Don). Seven years later, the director returned with a sequel titled Pantera, still starring Butler and Jackson Jr.

In this new adventure, “Big Nick”, still following in Don’s footsteps, tracks down thieves on the streets of Europe. Before you find Criminal Squad: Pantera in your theaters, here’s a quick reminder of the facts of the first installment.

Gerard Butler as a policeman with muscular methods

In Crime Squad, Nick O’Brien is a cop with a brutal manner. The latter investigates a series of robberies led by Ray Merriman (Pablo Schreiber). Then the sheriff decides to blackmail Donnie (Oshie Jackson Jr.), the group’s driver, to get information from him about the robbery.

The gang actually developed an elaborate plan to rob the Los Angeles Federal Reserve. Faced with the little information revealed by Don, Big Nick turns to Holly, Ray’s girlfriend (Meadow Williams). If the latter reveals to the policeman the location of another robbery, the audience will learn a little later – and long before Nick – that everything was planned in advance by Ray, who is necessarily always one step ahead of the policeman.

During the heist, Ray and his band of robbers use an ingenious trick to break into the Federal Reserve, but after a series of complications, everything goes wrong. Merriman and his team escape, but are intercepted on the highway by Nick and his men. A shootout ensues and most of the gang is killed, including Merriman, who dies in Nick’s arms after the last face-to-face.

Who is the real master?

In the final scenes, it is ironically revealed that Donnie Wilson, the gang’s seemingly naive driver, was actually the real mastermind behind the operation.

The ex-convict turned bartender at a bar across the street from the Federal Reserve, a strategic location that allowed him to eavesdrop on employees’ conversations and retrieve access cards forgotten during drunken evenings. Donnie envisions the perfect heist with his friends while recruiting Ray’s gang to help him while attracting the attention of the police.

The final scene of the film shows Nick’s shocked and delighted face when he realizes that Donnie was the real mastermind behind this robbery, the money of which was never found (the audience knows that Donnie sent him to Panama).

In the final scene, we discover that Don is now working in a bar across the street from the Diamond Bank in London, and that his accomplices are there too… an ending that suggests a sequel.

To be continued…

Seven years later, the sequel to Criminal Squad is finally hitting theaters. Big Nick is still on Donnie’s trail and continues to look for money. He also interrogates Holly, Ray’s ex-girlfriend, to find out where the Federal Reserve money went.

In this new opus, Big Nicky finds Donnie’s tracks. The latter allowed himself to enter the dangerous world of diamond thieves and panther mafia. their goal? Loot the Nice Diamond Exchange! After that, Nick will make a decision that could change his life forever.
